Moon Light

Moon Light
24x24 acrylic on canvas

There is something very special about a cold winter night when the storm passes and the moon's light makes the frost tipped trees sparkle. The carpet of snow seams to glow. While you are standing there you're lost for a moment enjoying true peace and quite.

Renovation - Self Portrait

Renovation
22 x 28 Acrylic on canvas
Self Portrait

The mind is very powerful. In order to live life to the fullest and maximize our potential, we need to take an honest look at ourselves to make changes and repairs, emotionally, physically and mentally.

Surrealism is one of my favorite art forms. It is a great way to express yourself and have fun at the same time. Twisting reality and forming a puzzle  asks the viewer to get involved and ask questions.

The last time I painted a self portrait was when I was 8 years old. My parents have it hanging in there hall for all these years.

" LOST "

" LOST "
Acrylic / Oil on canvas
24 x 36

Ship figureheads are carvings which embellished ships threw out the centuries. They were believed to please the gods to ensure a safe voyage.
These carvings go as far back to the Viking ships and came in many sizes and shapes.
The ships crew being very superstitious felt more at ease with a good luck charm which would protect them from dangerous storms and even death.
If they lost their lives at sea without protection, it was believed their souls would haunt the sea for eternity.
Check out this link which will show you more photos and info on these great pieces of art and history.http://www.darkroastedblend.com/2011/01/ship-figureheads-symbols-of-sea.html

I was looking for some inspiration and was so inspired by these great carvings and history of the sea I decided
to add a little drama to my next painting. I'm a big fan of mermaids and so many people are mesmerized by the stories of these beautiful creatures, it made a perfect project for me. " LOST " captures a moment which we all feel some what uncomfortable, add the darkness of night and a fog to make matters worse. The light symbolizes HOPE that we arrive at our destination.
